BIO
Hello, my name is DeAndre Pullen, comically known as Comediandre. I am a Los Angeles-based comedian, actor, writer, director, and executive producer building a digital-led comedic brand at the intersection of comedy, scripted storytelling, digital media, and culture. Since middle school, I've used comedy, characters, storytelling, and social media as a way to connect with audiences globally.
What began as a personal creative outlet grew into a substantial digital audience of nearly a million followers.
My creative perspective is deeply rooted in Los Angeles and shaped by an unconventional upbringing, including my experience as a former foster youth. Rather than allowing that history to define me solely through adversity, I draw from it as part of a broader understanding of family, identity, independence, belonging, and becoming an adult.
My work often finds humor inside those complicated spaces, blending heightened comedy with genuine emotional experiences.
I am intentionally developing myself as a multi-hyphenate creator. At the center of that evolution is Grandma Pullen, a larger-than-life character inspired by the women who helped shape his upbringing. Funny, outspoken, unpredictable, stylish, and deeply rooted in family, Grandma Pullen has become more than a recurring comedy character.
My broader vision is to move from simply participating in entertainment to building the infrastructure through which my entertainment is created and distributed. I am entering 2027 focused on transforming the audience, characters, stories, and creative instincts I have cultivated since adolescence into a sustainable entertainment business.
GRANDMA PULLEN
Grandma Pullen is an alter-ego brought to life by comedian and actor, DeAndre Pullen. This 70-year-old firecracker is inspired by DeAndre's late great-grandmother, Ethel Pullen—a southern, strong-willed, sharp-tongued woman with an impeccable sense of style, humor, and an old, crippled quirk . Ethel had a knack for navigating life with a charm that allowed her to get away with just about anything, and her legacy lives on in this larger-than-life character.
DeAndre uses Grandma Pullen not only as a comedic outlet but also as a spiritual tool to transform pain into laughter. Through her, he conveys powerful messages about life’s absurdities while testifying to the strength and grace found in faith, women empowerment and the power of God as a firm foundation.
Raised by his great-grandmother, great-aunt, and a community of older women in the church, DeAndre drew from his rich upbringing to shape Grandma Pullen’s character. He was also inspired by iconic performers like Tyler Perry, Martin Lawrence, Eddie Murphy, and other social media creators who have brought their own vibrant alter-egos to life.
Grandma Pullen has become the heart and soul of the Comediandre brand, captivating audiences with her bold humor and southern wisdom. She stands as a testament to the resilience and joy found in storytelling, humor, and faith.
